SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga women's tennis team took the doubles point and never looked back Saturday morning, cruising to a 4-0 victory over San Francisco in just under 90 minutes at The Stevens Center.

Claiming victories in every match that finished, the Zags advanced to 10-1 overall and won their first West Coast Conference dual of the season.

Building off recent strong doubles play, two Gonzaga duos, Sophie Whittle/Graciela Rosas and Kate Ketels/Haruna Tsuruta, continued their undefeated streaks with pairs wins. Whittle and Rosas gave the Zags their first win of the day, beating the Dons' Margarita Treyes and Hanna Borjeson 6-2 on court two. Ketels and Tsuruta then clinched the doubles point by winning their match on court three 6-2 over San Francisco's Amber Del Rosario and Alisha Sharma.

The Zags came out strong in singles play, taking first-set wins over the Dons on all six courts. Nevada Apollo led Gonzaga with a dominant performance on court one, defeating Emily Maxfield in straight 6-0 sets to earn the first singles point for GU. Apollo improved to 17-6 this season and 8-3 in dual play.

Domonique Garley claimed the Bulldogs' third point of the dual with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Del Rosario on court six. The victory pushed Garley's singles winning streak to eight and kept her undefeated in dual play on the year.

Ketels' 6-1, 6-1 win over San Francisco's Sarina Chhabra on court five clinched the victory for Gonzaga, closing out the match in 84 minutes, the Zags' fastest match of the year. Ketels' 18th singles win this season is a team-high and, and she has won 10 straight individual contests.

"We came out and set the mood and the mentality right away, that we're going to just take our game to them," said assistant coach Natalie Pluskota. "The girls implemented that very very well. It was a perfect match to go into tomorrow."

The Zags return to The Stevens Center against Santa Clara on Sunday, March 26th, at 10:00 a.m. to face Santa Clara (4-6, 0-1 WCC).
