Women’s Golf Opens Pat Bradley Invite in Sixth

Quynn Duong led the Zags with a first round 73
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women's golf team sits in a tie for sixth after the first round of the 41st Pat Bradley Invitational, hosted by Florida International at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
Gonzaga was out on the course early with the first tee times of the day and got off to a hot start with its top four combining to go one-under through the first six holes. Nina Novilla played the front nine in two-under, while Francesca Santoni was even at the turn and Quynn Duong was just one-over.
"It was an OK day for our first look at this golf course," head coach Brad Rickel said. "We have to make more putts tomorrow if we want to move up."
The Zags combined to shoot an even 300 as a team.
Duong posted the team's the top total score of the day with a one-over 73 after playing the back nine even par. She sits inside a tie for 17th. Novilla posted a three-over 75, along with Jessica Mangrobang, who rebounded from a four-over front nine to birdie holes 17 and 18 to play the back in one-under for her own 75 (+3). Novilla and Mangrobang will enter the second round tied for 35th.
Santoni rounded out GU's top four scores with a 77 to sit in a tie for 45th place.
Gonzaga will continue action at the Pat Bradley Invite over the course of Monday and Tuesday to complete the 54-hole tournament. Monday, the Zags will begin their tee times at 6:30 a.m. PT/9:30 a.m. ET. Links to live scoring are available at GoZags.com.
