Soccer Programs Receive Academic Award

Zag women and men recognized once again for work in classroom
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Gonzaga women's and men's soccer programs both received the 2017-18 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award.
The United Soccer Coaches annually recognize college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. A total of 773 soccer teams (289 men, 484 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 academic year.
Of that total, 192 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized. Five West Coast Conference institutions; Gonzaga, Pacific, Portland, Saint Mary's and Santa Clara -- placed both its men's and women's squads on the list.
Gonzaga's women's soccer team earned the award for the 10th consecutive season, posting a 3.46 GPA over the 2017-18 school year.
On the men's side, the Zags were recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for the 16th consecutive season. They posted a collective 3.38 GPA.
