GU Athletics Hosts Women Leaders in College Sports

April 27, 2018 SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga Athletics partnered with Women Leaders in College Sports to host a networking social on Wednesday night inside the Herak Club Room at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Female coaches and administrators from Gonzaga, Washington State, Idaho, Eastern Washington, and Community Colleges of Spokane were in attendance to enjoy an evening of conversation and networking to promote the growth, leadership, success, and advancement of women as athletics administrators, professional staff, coaches, and student-athletes. The goal of organizing the event was to create an opportunity for women in the region to connect, build relationships and grow their networks.

"We were happy to partner with Women Leaders in College Sports to provide this opportunity to bring female leaders in our region together," said Ali Steiner, Gonzaga Athletics' assistant director of facilities and event operations, and the organizer of the event. "Bringing together this group lends itself to build a stronger community within Athletics and the opportunity to foster relationships that inspire growth of professional and personal networks."

Women Leaders in College Sports is a national organization whose mission is to develop, connect and advance women working in college sports. They offer educational programs as well as networking and mentoring experiences.
