THE TIP-OFF
- Gonzaga and Portland will meet for the 78th time in program history and the 36th time in Spokane. The Bulldogs have won 19 straight games in the series, and they have won 35 of the last 36 meetings.
- The Zags are currently on an 11-game win streak, the longest so far of the season. The Bulldogs longest win streak in program history is 23 games, a feat they accomplished from Dec. 10, 2004 to March 6, 2005. The series dates back to 1981 when the programs met for the first time for a game in Portland. Gonzaga has dominated the majority of the series, but Portland strung together 11-straight wins from the 1993-94 season to the 1997-98 season before a 77-65 Bulldog win halted the streak. The Zags have dominated the series in the last 17 seasons, winning 35 of the last 36 meetings.
- Throughout the series, Gonzaga has averaged 70.2 points per game while limiting Portland to 61.6.
- In the last meeting, Gonzaga tallied its 11th-straight win with a 75-36 win over the Pilots at home. The Bulldogs' 36 points allowed was the lowest of the 2017-18 season. Three players finished in double-figures for the Zags, led by Jill Barta with 21 points and seven rebounds while Zykera Rice and Jessie Loera added 13 and 10, respectively.
SCOUTING PORTLAND:
- Portland is 8-7 overall on the season with an 0-4 mark in WCC play. The Pilots finished the non-conference season with an 8-3 mark, the program's best 11-game record since going 8-3 during the 2010-11 season.
- The Pilots average a conference-best 75.3 points per game, good for a tie for 49th in the nation.
- Julie Spencer leads Portland in scoring at 16.0 points per game, good for sixth in the WCC. Darian Slaga is close behind at 15.3 points per contest, good for seventh in the conference. Haylee Andrews rounds out the double-figure scoring with 11.4 points per game.
- Slaga recently eclipsed 1,000 career points as she netted 22 points against Pacific on Jan. 3. Slaga became the 25th player in Portland history to score 1,000 career points.
- As a team, the Pilots lead the WCC in threes made per game (8.9), free throw percentage (.769) and scoring offense (75.3 points per game).

BULLDOGS KEEP ON CLIMBING
Gonzaga's recent jump to No. 14 in the AP Top 25 Poll marks its highest ranking ever. Previously, the Zags had been ranked as high as No. 15 in the Associated Press poll, a feat they accomplished March 20-27, 2010 (That same week, Gonzaga did reach a No. 14 ranking in the USA Today Coaches Poll). That season (2009-10), Gonzaga entered the Top 25 poll at No. 24 on Feb. 6, 2010 following a 93-53 win over San Francisco. The Bulldogs continued to move up in the poll through WCC play, moving up to 22nd, 21st, 19th, 17th and finally 15th. The Bulldogs posted a 20-game win streak and advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen that season.
ON TOP OF THE CONFERENCE
Through the first 16 games, Gonzaga leads the WCC in six statistical categories: scoring defense (56.6 ppg), scoring margin (+15.8 ppg), rebounding defense (32.8 rpg), rebounding margin (+6.8), steals (10.3) and turnover margin (+3.7). The Bulldogs also rank second in six statistical categories: free throw percentage (.767), field goal percentage defense (.366), three-point percentage (.369), three-point percentage defense (.286), blocked shots (4.1 bpg) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.0). The Bulldogs also lead the the WCC in RPI (currently ranked 11th in the nation). BYU is the next closest WCC school, ranked 38th in the latest RPI rankings.

MOVING ON UP
Laura Stockton dished out five assists in GU's 88-65 win over Pacific to surpass Carla Curfman on the all-time career assists list. Stockton now has 395 career assists to rank fifth all-time in GU history. She is six assists shy of fourth place; former Zag Jazmine Redmon claims the fourth spot with 400 career assists.
NEARLY PERFECT
The Bulldogs are capitalizing on their opportunities at the line as they average 76.7 percent from the charity stripe through the first 16 games. Seven players are shooting at least 75 percent from the line, led by Stockton. Stockton has only missed two free throws all season (32-34), and is currently shooting 94.1 percent from the line to lead the WCC. Currently, Stockton averages 2.0 made free throws per game; national statistics require 2.5 made free throws per game to qualify. Katie Campbell is currently perfect from the line (18-18), but is only attempting 1.1 free throws per game.
