Zags Post Semester Records in Fall 2018

159 Student-Athletes Earned Gonzaga Honors

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga student-athletes continued to excel in the classroom during the Fall 2018 semester, posting a cumulative grade-point average of 3.35 with a department record 159 student-athletes earning  Gonzaga President's List or Dean's List honors.
 
The 3.35 GPA marks the sixth consecutive semester that the departmental GPA has been met or exceeded 3.35. Of the Gonzaga honors, a program-record 63 earned President's List accolades (3.85+ semester GPA) and 96 were named to the Dean's List (3.50-3.84 GPA). A total of 20 GU student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 GPAs for the semester.
 
"Our student-athletes continue to break new barriers and set the bar higher and higher," Director of Athletics Mike Roth said. "We have a fantastic group of student-athletes who manage their athletic and academic responsibilities at an amazing level. We are proud of their hard work, as well as the coaches, faculty and staff that support them."
 
The GU volleyball team led the way with a team GPA of 3.64, which was also a program record. Women's tennis posted a 3.63 and women's cross country posted a 3.60 as a team, including a department-high 12 President's List honorees.
 
Gonzaga men's basketball broke its GPA record, posting a 3.31 as a team, including a perfect 4.0 by graduate transfer Geno Crandall, and five others with a 3.50 or better.
