Bulldogs look to stay on the winning track
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga volleyball team heads south this week for matches at Pacific (Nov. 7) and at Saint Mary's (Nov. 9).

vs. Saint Mary's | 67th meeting

The series dates back to 1986 when Gonzaga and Saint Mary's met for the first time in conference play. GU won each of the first five meetings and controlled the series for much of the 1990s. From 2000 to the first part of 2014, GU won just four matches against the Gaels, but since 2014, GU has recorded six wins.
vs. Pacific | 16th meeting
Overall: 3-12 | Home: 3-4 | Away: 0-7 | Streak: Pacific, won 4
Pacific has controlled the overall series, earning wins in the first six meetings. Gonzaga snapped Pacific's win streak in the series with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers in 2015. Since that win, the Bulldogs have tallied two more wins in the series, with the last win coming with a five-set victory in 2017.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS:
- Pacific carries a 12-12 overall record with a 4-8 mark in the West Coast Conference. Currently, the Tigers are on a three-match losing streak.
- The Tigers average 12.97 kills per set hitting .180 to go along with 11.93 assists per set and 1.57 service aces per set.
- Riley Patterson leads the attack with 3.42 kills per set hitting .164; Allison Dennemann is a close second with a 2.92 kills per set averages hitting .161. Hanne De Schrijver leads the Tigers in assists with 4.63 per set.
- Defensively, Pacific averages 14.82 digs per set and 1.43 blocks per set.
- Jadyn Tubbs leads the defensive effort with a team-high 4.07 digs per set. Kennedy Kaminsky leads the defensive effort at the net with a team-leading 0.86 blocks per set.
- In the last meeting, Gonzaga won the first set 27-25 before falling in four sets. Chapin Gray led the Bulldogs with a team-high 14 kills and 20 digs. Jenna Kuehn added 20 assists, while Kennedy Croft added a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.
ROSTER REPORT ON SAINT MARY'S
- The Gaels are 8-14 overall on the season with a 4-8 mark in the WCC, good for seventh in the conference.
- SMC averages 11.4 kills per set hitting .184 to go along with 10.46 assists and 1.36 aces per set.
- Breyan Ashley leads the attack with a team-leading 2.94 kills per set average. Elena Baka also averages over two kills per set as she averages 2.59 hitting .166. Alexsa Parker leads the team in assists with 523 on the season for a 6.46 per set average.
- Defensively, Saint Mary's averages 12.43 digs per set along with 2.35 blocks per set.
- Kelsey Knudsen leads the defensive effort with 3.30 digs per set with a team-leading 274 on the season. Both Aubrey Pitts and Alex O'Sullivan lead the defensive effort at the net, averaging 1.35 and 1.05 blocks per set, respectively.
- SMC is currently on a two-match losing streak, and the Gaels are an even .500 in the last eight matches.
- In the last meeting back on Oct. 10, Saint Mary's earned its first conference win with a 3-1 victory in Spokane. Kennedy Croft led the Bulldogs with 10 kills, seven digs, two assists, one ace and one block.
MOVING ON UP
Kennedy Croft recorded three service aces over the weekend, bringing her single-season total to 32. Croft now ranks fourth in program history during the rally scoring era in aces in a single season. Savannah Blinn holds the rally scoring record with 42 aces in single season, a feat she accomplished during the 2012 season.
