Bulldogs Face Stanford, Drexel, UCSD and USD over two-day event
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga men's rowing team heads south this weekend for the UCSD Invitational March 30 and 31, hosted by UCSD at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
"This is a great opportunity for us to get down the race course multiple times against some good crews," said head men's rowing coach Dan Gehn.
Along with the Bulldogs, four additional crews will be competing including host UCSD, USD, Stanford and Drexel. GU begins racing at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, March 30 with the Varsity Eight against both Stanford and USD, while the Second Varsity Eight will compete at 9:45 against Stanford with the Third Varsity Eight facing Stanford at 10 a.m.
"We are really appreciative of Coach Zach Johnson and UCSD for setting this new race up and inviting us," Gehn said. "We will be racing out of the Olympic Training Center located in Chula Vista, Calif., and it's a great venue."
