Home Victories
- Gonzaga picked up a pair of home victories in dominating fashion over local rivals Idaho and Eastern Washington.
- GU defeated Idaho 4-1 in the first of a doubleheader, and then EWU in the nightcap, 4-0. GU went 7-0 in singles on the day.
- For her efforts in the two matches, Vlada Medvedcova was named the WCC Singles Player of the Week.
Medvedcova Named WCC Player of the Week
- Sophomore Vlada Medvedcova swept both of her singles matches in a doubleheader to earn her first career honor.
- Playing Idaho and Eastern Washington, the Moldova native played the No. 4 position in the lineup and factored in the win in both matches.
- She scored Gonzaga's first point against Idaho with a 6-0, 6-1 victory and then added a 6–1, 6-3 win against Eastern Washington for the Zags' penultimate point in a 4-0 sweep.
Winning Ways
- Vlada Medvedcova leads the squad with 11 singles wins on the year, while Kate Ketels and Cate Broerman each of nine.
- In doubles, the combo of Medvedcova and Ketels is 5-2 on the year, including a 2-2 mark in duals.
Opening Weekend
- Gonzaga went 1-1 in a pair of matches in Denver, Colo., to open the dual-match season.
- The Zags opened with a 4-3 win over Colorado State in a neutral site match.
- Freshman Jenna Sloan picked up a pair of singles victories on the weekend.
Gonzaga Invitational Tournament:
- Individually, freshman Jenna Sloan earned the singles title with an 81.8 win-percentage, winning 36 of her 44 games played for the tournament, including a 6-1, 6-1 win in Sunday's final round.
- Kate Ketels was next with a 76.6 win-percentage and Taylor Gruber was fourth at 66.1 percent.
- In doubles, GU's Kate Ketels and Vlada Medvedcova finished second with a win-percentage of 64.9 percent.
Fall Success
- Kate Ketels and Vlada Medvedcova each posted eight wins during the fall season to lead the team.
- Cate Broerman had seven tournament wins and Haruna Tsuruta had six.
- In doubles, the duo of Medvedcova and Ketels went 3-0, while Taylor Gruber and Broerman went 4-2 as a pair.
- Ketels made an impressive singles run at the ITA Northwest Regionals, advancing to the quarterfinals before falling to the top seed.
- Broerman made a run at regionals winning three matches to make it to the Round of 16.
- Broerman also reached the final of her bracket at the Cal Invite in her first career tournament.

- Head coach D.J. Gurule is in his 16th season at the helm of the Gonzaga women's tennis program.
- GU returns seniors Kate Ketels, Haruna Tsuruta and Katie Day and sophomore Vlada Medvedcova.
- The Zags welcome four freshman to the squad as well as one transfer in Taylor Gruber from Missouri.
- The group of newcomers includes California natives Jenna Sloan and JennaMarie Gordon, Arizona's Cate Broerman and Montana's Maria Frampton.
- Tsuruta posted a 9-6 singles record and 11-10 doubles record last year, playing in the No. 4 and 5 spots in the lineup.
- Ketels went 9-12 in singles and 15-13 in doubles, playing primarily at No. 5 and 6 in the lineup.
