Bulldogs Head to Moscow for Idaho Team Challenge

Several GU runners run against regional competition Friday
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's and men's track teams return to the D1 Invitational Team Challenge hosted by the University of Idaho Friday.
The Zags are back inside the Kibbie Dome for the third and final time this season. In the season-opening Vandal Open, Aimee Piercy broke the women's 800-meter program record and Dominic Arce cruised to the men's 3,000-meter title on Jan. 11. Evan Bates led a successful day for the Bulldog men and women at the Idaho Open on Jan. 23. The freshman took the men's indoor mile title and ran the 10th-fastest 800-meter time in program history.
Last season at the meet, Jordan McPhee ran the third-fastest women's 800-meter time in program history. Morgan Greene's (2:20.50) and Ally Legard's (2:20.72) finishes ranked seventh and ninth all-time at GU. Mason Villarma moved up on the men's 800-meter all-time list. His 1:56.15 fourth-place finish ranks as the eighth-fastest time in program history. Four Zags placed in the top five of the men's mile.
The Bulldogs open the meet with the women's 60-meter prelims at 11:30 a.m. The men's mile follows at 11:40. Results will be available on GoZags.com following the meet.
