BOCA RATON, Fla. - Gonzaga women's tennis went down 5-0 to Florida Atlantic on Tuesday afternoon in Boca Raton, Fla.

Gonzaga (7-6) battled down to the wire in doubles and put up a hard-fought effort in singles, but came up short against Florida Atlantic (7-3). A rain delay between doubles and singles extended the match until the weather cleared the area.

In singles, GU's Kate Ketels and Haruna Tsuruta each won their first set, but the Owls were too much on the remaining courts.

Ketels, playing the top position in the lineup, won the first set 6-3, but fell in the second before the match went unfinished in the third. Tsuruta earned a 7-6 first-set win and was tied 3-3 in the second as FAU clinched.

FAU earned victories at Nos. 2, 4, 5 and 6 on the way to the victory.

Gonzaga will continue its roadtrip in Florida, taking on Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers on Wednesday at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. CT.
