Bulldogs searching for 11th-straight victory Saturday
SAN FRANCISCO – The No. 20/19 Gonzaga women's basketball team faces San Francisco Saturday, Jan. 16 at 12 p.m. inside War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. The Bulldogs look to remain undefeated in WCC play and extend their win streak to 11 games.

THE TIP-OFF
- The Bulldogs extended their win streak to 10 games with a 71-52 victory over Santa Clara Thursday evening in Santa Cruz.
- With the win over Portland, Gonzaga improved to 6-0 in conference play for the fourth-straight season.
- Saturday will mark the 11th time the Zags have played on Jan. 16 and the second straight season. Last year, GU played at Santa Clara on Jan. 16, defeating the Broncos 67-52 on the road. Saturday will also mark the second time in program history the Zags have played San Francisco on the date. In their only prior meeting on Jan. 16--during the 2002-03 season--Gonzaga defeated USF 59-47 in Spokane.
- Currently, Gonzaga is ranked 20th in the AP Poll and 19th in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs have now been ranked or receiving votes for 46 consecutive voting weeks, dating back to Dec. 3, 2018.
- The Bulldogs return three starters and nine letter winners from last season's squad that claimed the Zags' fourth consecutive West Coast Conference regular season title.
- In 2019-20, Gonzaga rose to its highest regular-season national ranking ever, securing a No. 11 AP and No. 10 ranking in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll. Prior to the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Zags were predicted as high as a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and were expected to host the First and Second Rounds for the first time since the NCAA changed hosting rules for the tournament in 2014-15.
- Gonzaga returns 79.1 percent of its scoring and 79.2 percent of its rebounding from last season.

[Jan. 15] Senior Jill Townsend is the latest Zag to inch closer to the 1,000 career points mark. Townsend currently has 984 career points; the senior guard averages 13.1 points per game. At that rate, she's predicted to eclipse the mark within the next two games.
