COLTON, Wash. – The Gonzaga men's rowing team competed at the first fall regatta of the season at the Head of the Snake and won two races.
"It was a good first taste of racing for the novices, especially given the conditions," head coach
Dan Gehn said. "I thought varsity came out and handled everything well. Just rolled with it and had a scrappy attacking race."
In the first flight, Gonzaga's 1V8+ boat won the race with a time of 7:20.1. WSU go second with a time of 7:29.8. GU also had a novice boat race, placing fifth overall with a time of 9:26.3.
The 2V8+ boat finished first overall with a time of 8:11.4 in the second flight. The novice boat took fourth overall with a time of 9:25.9. The race had boats seven boats from GU and WSU.
The races were shortened due to win and the water condition down to 2350.
