Men's Tennis Continues Competition at Easley Memorial Classic

The Zags have a doubles team and multiple singles in finals tomorrow
LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Gonzaga men's tennis team wrapped up day two at the Easley Memorial Classic with multiple Zags advancing to the final rounds tomorrow.
In doubles, junior Matthew Hollingworth and sophomore Sasha Trkulja defeated two Grand Canyon University teams today to advance to the finals round tomorrow. In the first game, GU defeated GCU, 8-2. In the second match, the Bulldogs won 8-6. The other doubles team for the Zags was graduate Tom Hann and sophomore Pablo Gomez Galvan. The duo fell in a tiebreaker to Cal Poly in the semi-finals round.
In singles action, Trkulja advanced to the finals round in his bracket after defeating Spencer Brachman from Arizona State University, 6-1, 6-1. The sophomore will take on Christopher Bulus from UNLV tomorrow. Hollingworth competed in the same bracket, but fell 6-4, 6-2, against Bulus from the Rebels.
Gomez Galvan, seeded No. 1 in his bracket, continued dominating his bracket. He is advancing to the finals round tomorrow as well. He fell to Alex Scemanemco from San Diego State, 6-3 in the first set, but did not complete the second as it ended at 3-2 as Scemanemco had to retire. The sophomore will take on his own teammate, Hann, who is seeded at No. 2, tomorrow in the finals as Hann also continued winning in today's competition. Hann defeated Van Zegglar from GCU in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
