The White Team defeated the Navy Team, 39-27

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's basketball team put on a show at the 2022 Numerica FanFest in the Kennel at the McCarthey Athletic Center on Saturday.

Fans were treated to special player and coaching staff introductions, a skills contest, a three-point shootout and a hot shot challenge before an intrasquad scrimmage.

In the skills contest, junior Yvonne Ejim claimed the 2022 title, while junior McKayla Williams won the three-point contest. Sophomore Maud Huijbens won the hot shot contest while competing with another student at GU.

The white squad defeated the navy team, 39-27, in the 20-minute team scrimmage. Senior Kayleigh Truong led the navy team with 11 points and going 5-for-10 from the floor. Ejim scored 13 points for the white team, going 5-for-7 from the field.

The Zags open the 2022-23 season with an exhibition against Western Washington on Nov. 4. The regular season starts against Long Beach State on Nov. 10.
