GRAD YEAR (2023-24): Named to the All-WCC First Team… Started and played in 35 games for the Zags, finishing with a career-high 982 total minutes on the year… Averaged career-highs in almost every major statistical category, including 28.1 minutes, 12.1 points, and 4.4 assists per game this season… Finished the season with an impressive field goal percentage of 43.8% and three point percentage of 39.6%, both of which were also career-highs… Had 142 made field goals and 76 made three points this year, which were the third-most and fourth-most on the squad, respectively… Grabbed a career-high 84 total rebound this season, with 2.4 rebounds per game and 18 offensive rebounds on the year… Had 153 assists, 47 steals, and four blocks on the year, which were all career-highs… Scored a career-high 424 total points this season, including a career-high 25 points against Liberty… Had her first collegiate double-double, with 12 points and 10 assists, against Pacific… Finished with a career-high six steals against Arizona… Scored 21 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds in Gonzaga’s Round of 32 matchup against Utah… Had at least five assists in 17 games this year…
SENIOR (2022-23): Having missed 23 games due to injury, saw action in 10 games and started four of them this season for the Zags…Played a career-high 39 minutes against Louisville, when she earned five assists and grabbed a season-high five rebounds…Shot a perfect 100 percent from the field, and scored six points, in her return from injury against San Diego… Averaged a career-high 1.8 steals per game this year
JUNIOR (2021-22): Game-by-game statistics...Started 28 games, and appeared in 31 total games, this season for the Bulldogs...Earned a career-high 11 assists in Gonzaga’s game against Pepperdine...Scored a season-high 20 points against Nebraska in the First Round NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament... In 751 total minutes this year, Kayleigh increased her points and assists per game averages, while also improving her career field goal percentage and free throw percentage...Kayleigh scored 347 total points this season, which nearly matched the 380 total points she scored in the past two seasons combined.
SOPHOMORE (2020-21): Game-by-game statistics...Saw action in all 27 games for the Bulldogs, starting 26 at guard…led the Zags in assists and ranked third in the West Coast Conference in assists per game with 4.1…logged 12 games on the season with at least five assists…dished out a career-high nine assists at Saint Mary’s, two days after delivering a then-career-high eight assists at Pacific…ranked fourth on the team in scoring at 7.8 points per game, shooting 38.9 percent from the floor…carried a 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio…scored in double-figures eight times on the season.
FRESHMAN (2019-20): Game-by-game statistics...Played in 28 games, starting in eight…scored a season-high 18 points in her collegiate debut against CSU Bakersfield, going 4-6 from beyond the arc…dished out a season-high seven assists against Texas Southern…blocked four shots on the season…played a season-high 31 minutes at Loyola Marymount…shot 36.2 percent from the floor…named to the WCC All-Freshman Team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated 2019 from Jersey Village High School in Houston, Texas…led the Falcons to a District 17-6A championship with a 33-3 overall record her senior season with a perfect 16-0 record in district play…averaged 16.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.6 steals per game her senior season…finished in double-figures 24 times her senior season with 10 20-point performances and one 31-point effort…averaged 18.8 points, 2.6 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game for her high school career…three-time First Team All-District 17-6A performer…twice named to the All-Greater Houston Preseason Team (2017-18; 2018-19)...also participated in the 2018 USA Basketball Women’s U17 World Cup Team Trials in May 2018…ranked by ESPN as the 28th best point guard in the nation…McDonald’s All-American nominee...also a three-time CFISD First Team Academic All-District performer.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Katherine Nguyen and Man Truong…has one brother, Jonathan, and a twin sister, Kaylynne…twin sister Kaylynne also plays for Gonzaga…majoring in human physiology with the hopes of becoming a physical therapist…chose Gonzaga because “the school has a family atmosphere and a good basketball program. I wanted to also continue building my faith.”
