THE TIP OFF
- The Gonzaga Bulldogs are coming off a historic win over the University of Tennessee, 73-72, at the Battle 4 Atlantis. The win marked GU's first win over the storied Lady Vols program as Gonzaga finished third overall in the tough field in the Bahamas. Yvonne Ejim led the team with 22 points, with 20 of those coming in the second half. She scored the eventual game winning shot to propel the Zags on top of the Lady Vols. It marked GU's second ranked win in three days as Gonzaga also defeated then No. 6/4 Louisville in overtime, 79-67.
- The Zags have four players currently averaging double digits in the first five games of the season, including Yvonne Ejim (18), Brynna Maxwell (13), Kaylynne Truong (12.3) and Eliza Hollingsworth (10.5).
- Yvonne Ejim was just shy of her second double double this season against Tennessee as she scored 22 points and hauled in nine rebounds.
- The Bulldogs are currently shooting at a program record 81.8 percent from the free throw line. In the fourth quarter alone against UT, the team went 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.

- The Bulldogs were picked to win the West Coast Conference. The Zags received nine first-place votes that and totaled 81 points in the poll. The poll is voted on by the league's 10 head coaches, and coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team. Portland received one first-place votes and was selected to finish second with 71 points, while BYU was voted to finish third with 55 points.
- Gonzaga has amassed a conference record of 257-33 (.886) during the last 17 seasons, which includes 16 West Coast Conference regular-season titles and nine WCC Tournament championships.
- Seniors Kayleigh Truong, Kaylynne Truong and junior Yvonne Ejim were also named to the Preseason All-WCC Team. Ejim is the reigning WCC Sixth Woman of the Year while also receiving All-WCC Second Team in 2021-22. Kayleigh Truong earned All-WCC First Team honors after her performance in 2021-22. Kaylynne Truong was named to the WCC Tournament team along with the Rainbow Wahine Showdown MVP as she was ranked third on the team in scoring last year.

- After starting the season strong, Jaydia Martin earned Big Sky Co-Player of the Week Honors. Martin averaged 16.7 points to help lead Eastern to its first 3-0 start since the 2006-07 season. The sophomore had a 47.1 field goal percentage overall on from the field and a blistering 57.1(5-of-11) percent from three-point range. In total, Martin scored 50 points, adding nine rebounds, seven assists and eight steals. Martin committed only three turnovers in the three games as well.
- The Eagles are second in the Big Sky in scoring offense, averaging 77.0 points per game. Through three games, the average margin of victory is 25 points for Eastern. From the field, the Eagles are third with a 45.1 shooting percentage and second with a 42.4 percent mark from three.
- Eastern is coming off a 90-44 win over Evergreen State on Nov. 20. The game marked the first time the Eags have scored 90 points in a game since 2021 as EWU scored 42 points from the bench alone.
