Men's Soccer Adds Eight to Signing Class

SPOKANE, Wash. – Head coach Aaron Lewis has announced seven additions to the Gonzaga men's soccer so far this year. 

"We are thrilled with the character, quality and athleticism represented in this class," Lewis said, "They all have track records of contributing to championship teams and are motivated to do whatever it takes to push this program to new heights."
 
Sam Dahlin | Lake Forest Park, Wash.
Dahlin comes from Lake Forest Park, Wash. He attended King's High School in Shoreline, where he played two years of varsity soccer as a midfielder. With his success on the field, Dahlin earned First Team All-Conference in 2020-21 and again in 2021-22. He was also named the captain during his senior year.
 
Dahlin, a freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2023 season. He currently plans on majoring in sports management at Gonzaga.

Farhan Moustafa | Olympia, Wash.
Moustafa comes from Olympia, Wash., and attended North Thurston in Lacey. He brings a lot of experience to GU as he competed for the Sounders Academy in Washington's Premier FC. He also attended one year of junior college at South Puget Sound.

In the 201-22 season, Moustafa played 686 minutes with the Sounders Academy in the MLS Next U17. He also recorded 255 minutes in the MLS Generation Cup U17 and another 180 minutes in the MLS Next U17 Friendlies.  

Moustafa, a freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2023 season.

Dom Miller | Antelope, Calif.
Miller comes from Antelope, Calif., and is a goalkeeper. He attends California Connections Academy and has earned one varsity letter so far in his high school career. He has recorded four clean sheets in nine games in the net.

With his accomplishments on the field, he has been a NorCal ECNL Conference Champion, named to the NorCal ECNL All-Conference Second Team and selected to play in the Puma Invitational at Gothia Cup with NorCal PDP. He also has a Norcal North UPSL Tournament Champion title.

Off the field, he also succeeds in the classroom with five semesters on the honor roll.

Miller, a freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2023 season.

Drew Pedersen | Lake Oswego, Ore.
Pederson comes from Lake Oswego, Ore., and attends Jesuit High School. He brings a lot of experience to GU as he also has club experience from Oregon Premier as he has played for three years on the club.  

In high school, Pedersen started on the varsity team for two years. He was the Metrolink Conference Player of the Year this past fall as his team won the state championship. He was also the State Cup champion for club soccer this past summer with PFC and was recently selected for his high scool All-American Metro League Game. 

During the 2021 season, he played in 18 games and recorded 19 goals with seven assists.

Pedersen, a freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2023 season.

Ian Silva | St. Cloud, Fla.
Silva comes from St. Cloud, Fla., and brings a lot of club experience to Gonzaga as an attacking middle and left wing.

In 2021, Silva won an MLS Next National Championship with the Orlando City. He also represented Orlando City U23/B in the starting XI on multiple occasions over 2021-22.

On Silva's senior team debut at 17 years old, he had a back heel assist against British Virgin Islands in the Concacaf Nations League in 2022. He captained the U-20 against Mexico. In the World Cup Qualifying, he scored a goal against Guatemala U-20 and captained against Panama U-20. With his efforts on the field, he was a nominee of Revelation of the Year for Puerto Rican soccer. With the Puerto Rico team, he played games in Belize, Honduras, Dominican Republic, and Cayman Islands.
 
Silva, a freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2023 season.

Hudson Brunk | Keizer, Ore.
Brunk comes from Keizer, Ore., and brings a lot of experience to the Gonzaga team. He played varsity soccer all four years at McNary High School and played as a center midfielder and center defender.
In his four years at McNary, he scored 47 goals and recorded 25 assists as well. His career-highs in high school came during his senior year with 28 goals and 12 assists alone.
 
With his high performance on the field, Brunk was named First Team Mountain Valley, 6A All-Conference three times, Mountain Valley 6A Player of the Year and Salem Breakfast Player of the Week.
 
Brunk, a freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2023 season.
 
Ben Elkins | Sacramento, Calif.
Elkins comes from Sacramento, Calif. and Inderkum High School. While being part of the successful varsity high school team, Elkins also competed on Davis Legacy Soccer Club as a forward. During his junior year of high school, he played in 13 games and scored 19 goals throughout those to average 1.5 goals per game. He also recorded 38 points on the year, which led his team. 

Elkins, a freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2023 season.

Eli Dreon | Seattle, Wash.
Dreon comes from Seattle, Washington, and has committed to Gonzaga. He is currently attending Kings High School and was named Chinook All-Conference First Team in 2022. He is also an ECNL National Champion with Crossfire Pemiere in 2022 and a Surf Cup Champion in Crossfire Premiere in 2021. 

Dreon, a freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2023 season.
