BOULDER, Colo. — The Gonzaga women's tennis team wrapped up their road trip at the University of Colorado and fell 5-2.

In doubles, Kianna Oda and Tiegan Aitken teamed up to play on court two and won 7-5 over Ky Ecton and Mila Stanojevic. They were the lone doubles team that came out on top for the day as Colorado took a 1-0 lead going into singles.

Cate Broerman and Adrianna Sosnowska competed on court one together and fell 6-4 to Maria Campos and Caroline Pozo. in the No. 3 spot, Frederikke Svarre and Jenna Sloan fell, 6-2, to Betina Tokac and Ellen Puzak.

The Zags had a tough battle in the singles matches with multiple matches being decided by a tiebreak or went to three sets.

Sloan came out on top in the No. 4 position with a 6-1, 7-6 (9-7), victory over Tokac. Oda also claimed a victory on the day in the No. 5 spot with a 6-4, 6-3, win over Ecton.

Aitken was one of the matches that was decided by a tiebreak and she competed on court 6. In the first set, she fell 4-6, but came back to win the second 6-3. In the tiebreaker, she fell 10-4 to Puzak.

Sosnowska had a three-set match against Stanojevic on court 2. She lost the first set 2-6, but came back to win the second set 6-2. The final set was a close one as well, but she fell 7-5.

Broerman battled on court one, but fell 6-3, 6-3 to Pozo. Svarre also competed on court three, but lost 6-1, 6-2.

Up Next: The Zags come back home to host the University of Idaho on Saturday, Feb. 19. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m. in the Stevens Center. Admission is free and open to the public. Masks are also required to enter the Stevens Center.
