WTEN: Zags Fall to San Diego, 4-0

The Bulldogs are on the road until April 8

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's tennis team had a home match earlier today against the University of San Diego, and lost 4-0 in the Stevens Center. 

Today's match started competitive, as Gonzaga's Adrianna Sosnowska and Tiegan Aitken earned a 6-2 court three victory over San Diego's Abigail Desiatnikov and Jordyn McBride.

San Diego tied the doubles competition as Claudia De Las Heras and Elizabeth Goldsmith defeated Gonzaga's Cate Broerman and Kianna Oda 6-4 in the No. 1 spot. In the most competitive match of the doubles competition, San Diego clinched the doubles point as Solymar Colling and Victoria Kalaitzis won their court two matchup against Gonzaga's Frederikke Svarre and Jenna Sloan, 7-6. 

Moving to the singles competition, San Diego increased its lead when De Las Heras defeated Aitken 6-2, 6-3 in the No.5 spot. On court six, Kalaitzis earned another point for San Diego when she claimed the 6-0, 6-4 victory over Gonzaga's Caroline Wernli. The match was clinched for San Diego after McBride defeated Oda 6-2, 6-3 on court four. 

All other matches went unfinished, as San Diego had clinched the 4-0 victory.
