THE TIPOFF
- The Gonzaga women's basketball team welcomes Wyoming for its third-straight home game this Saturday, Nov. 18. This marks the fifth season in a row that the Cowgirls and Zags have met.
- Gonzaga is currently on a 22 home game winning streak, which ranks third in the country only behind UNLV (25) and South Carolina (44).
- GU is coming off a dominant 83-55 win over North Florida. Yvonne Ejim and Kayleigh Truong scored 20 points or more in the second-straight game as Kayleigh Truong tied her career-high of 21 points and Ejim scored 20. Ejim also nearly had a double double with eight rebounds in 29 minutes of play.
- Brynna Maxwell is ranked first in the country in free throw percentage with 100 percent so far this season.
- Four Zags are averaging double digits in scoring including Kaylynne Truong (13.8), Yvonne Ejim (19.3), Kayleigh Truong (16.5), and Brynna Maxwell (11).
- Kaylynne Truong is 11th in the nation in assists in three-point attempts. Yvonne Ejim is also 14th in the country in points scored this season.
- Kaylynne Truong was one of 20 point guards in the country named to the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list. Brynna Maxwell was also one of 20 shooting guards in the country named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list.
- Yvonne Ejim, Brynna Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong were named to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Becky Hammon Player of the Year Award. Gonzaga is the only team with multiple players on the watch list and becomes the first team to ever place three players on a single list.
- Lisa Fortier was recently named to the 2024 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award preseason watch list. This year's watch list includes coaches from 16 conferences.
- The Bulldogs were picked to win the West Coast Conference. The Zags received eight first-place votes that and totaled 64 points in the poll.
- Gonzaga has amassed a conference record of 274-34 (.889) during the last 18 seasons, which includes 17 West Coast Conference regular-season titles and nine WCC Tournament championships.
- Graduate students Brynna Maxwell, Kayleigh Truong, Kaylynne Truong and senior Yvonne Ejim were named to the Preseason All-WCC Team.
- The Zags won the West Coast Conference Regular Season Title for the 18th time in program history by going 17-1 in conference play last season.s
- Last season, GU had a record breaking performance from the three point line. The team recorded a program record 40.5 shooting percentage, which led the country.
- Brynna Maxwell made a three-pointer in every regular season game last year and shot at 48.1 percent on the year to lead the nation for the majority of the season.

FIRST MEETING: The Bulldogs first met Wyoming in 1989, in a neutral site at Moscow, Idaho. The Zags lost 69-60, which is the only loss against Wyoming.
LAST MEETING: Last year, GU traveled to Wyoming and won 66-64. The Zags currently have a 3-0 record at home and 5-0 on the road against the Cowgirls.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
- Wyoming (2-1) passed its first road test earlier this week, winning a defensive battle at Denver, 58-41. The Cowgirls held the Pioneers to just under 30-percent shooting from the field overall and 6-of-32 from 3-point range. Emily Mellema led the way with a season-high 15 points while Tess Barnes and Malene Pedersen added 12 points each. Mellema also added four boards, four assists and a pair of steals in the win while the duo of Barnes and Pedersen both made two 3-pointers in the contest.
- Defensively, Pedersen and Ustowska each had two steals as well, while Allyson Fertig notched a season-high four blocks against DU. Overall, the Cowgirls again had a stellar game at the free-throw line, going 15-of-16 as a team. On the season, Wyoming leads the nation in team free-throw percentage, shooting 91.7-percent (44-of-48 overall). Fertig and Mellema lead the way on the team with both shooting 9-of-10 at the stripe.
- Three games into the campaign, Fertig leads the Cowgirls averaging 11 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. Pedersen, meanwhile, is averaging 10.3 points and four boards per contest and has eight assists overall. Mellema is averaging nine points a game while Barnes is at 8.3 per and has a team-best nine assists.
