THE TIPOFF
- The Gonzaga women's basketball team hits the road this week to play Cal on Dec. 7.
- GU is coming off a historic 96-78 win over No. 3 Stanford on Dec. 3. The victory marked the highest ranked win in program history. Brynna Maxwell scored a season-high 27 points, Yvonne Ejim added another 27 points and 12 rebounds, and Gonzaga handed No. 3 Stanford its worst loss in nearly four years beating the Cardinal 96-78 on Sunday.
- Five Zags are averaging double digits in scoring including Yvonne Ejim (20), Kayleigh Truong (13.8), Brynna Maxwell (13.7), Kaylynne Truong (12.4), and Eliza Hollingsworth (10.4).
- The Zags are 10th in the country in three-point percentage at 40.2 percent. GU's 49 field goal percentage also ranks 16th.
- Kaylynne Truong is fourth in the nation in assists with 61 so far this year along with 14th in the country in assists per game with 6.1. Yvonne Ejim is also second in the country in field goals with 85 scored this season and is also fifth in the nation in points scored this year with 200. Brynna Maxwell is 12th in the country in three-pointers made with 26 so far.
- After defeating EWU and Stanford last week, Yvonne Ejim was named the WCC Player of the Week, ESPN's Player of the Week and the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week.
- Gonzaga is currently on a 24 home game winning streak, which ranks third in the country only behind UNLV (27) and South Carolina (46).
- Kaylynne Truong was one of 20 point guards in the country named to the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list. Brynna Maxwell was also one of 20 shooting guards in the country named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list.
- Yvonne Ejim, Brynna Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong were named to the preseason watch list for the 2024 Becky Hammon Player of the Year Award. Gonzaga is the only team with multiple players on the watch list and becomes the first team to ever place three players on a single list.
- Lisa Fortier was recently named to the 2024 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award preseason watch list. This year's watch list includes coaches from 16 conferences.
- The Bulldogs were picked to win the West Coast Conference. The Zags received eight first-place votes that and totaled 64 points in the poll.
- Gonzaga has amassed a conference record of 274-34 (.889) during the last 18 seasons, which includes 17 West Coast Conference regular season titles and nine WCC Tournament championships.
- Graduate students Brynna Maxwell, Kayleigh Truong, Kaylynne Truong and senior Yvonne Ejim were named to the Preseason All-WCC Team.
- The Zags won the West Coast Conference Regular Season Title for the 18th time in program history by going 17-1 in conference play last season.
- Last season, GU had a record breaking performance from the three point line. The team recorded a program record 40.5 shooting percentage, which led the country.
- Last season, Gonzaga advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth-straight year under Lisa Fortier.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Cal is coming off a 74-69 win over Saint Mary's on Dec. 2.
- For the third time this season, the Bears had four players score in double figures against the Gaels, led by Ila Lane who had 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go along with seven rebounds. Leilani McIntosh, Marta Suárez and Lulu-Laditan Twidale scored 13 points each. Kemery Martín had a career-high seven assists while McIntosh matched her season high with eight assists. For the third straight game, Twidale had a multiple 3-point effort with three from beyond the arc. As a team, Cal had season highs of 21 assists and 44 points in the paint.
- The Bears welcome six newcomers to the team: freshmen guards Anastasia Drosouni (Greece) and Lulu Twidale (Australia), junior forward Marta Suarez from Tennessee, senior forward McKayla William from Gonzaga and graduate transfers Ila Lane from UCSB and Ioanna Krimili from University of San Francisco.
- Ila Lane was named to this year's Lisa Leslie Award preseason watch list for the third time in her career. The award is given to the country's top center every year. Lane enters the season as one of 19 active players in NCAA Division I women's basketball to record at least 1,000 points and 800 rebounds for her career and just one of three active players to achieve that milestone in 75 games or less.
