Zag Trio Invited to NBA and G League Combines

Strawther and Timme to NBA Combine, Watson to G League Elite Camp

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga's Julian Strawther and Drew Timme were invited to the 2023 NBA Combine, and Anton Watson received an invitation for the NBA G League Elite Camp.

The NBA G League Elite Camp is Saturday and Sunday and the NBA Combine follows May 15-21. Both events are at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.

The 2023 NBA G League Elite Camp gives 45 draft prospects an opportunity to display their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives over the course of the camp by playing in five-on-five games and participating in strength and agility drills. The two-day event will be streamed live on the G League's YouTube account. Based on performance, select players from the NBA G League Elite Camp will be invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine.

The G League Camp has been a proving ground over the years, including 2022-23 Kia NBA G League Rookie of the Year and Memphis Grizzlies forward Kenneth Lofton Jr., New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado, Indiana Pacers forward Oshae Brissett, L.A. Clippers guard Terance Mann and Miami Heat guard Max Strus.

At the NBA Combine, players will have interviews with NBA teams and participate in five-on-five games as well as shooting and strength and agility drills from May 15-21. Coverage of the NBA Draft Combine 2023 begins Wednesday, May 17 on ESPN2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT, and continues Thursday, May 18 from 1-5 p.m. on ESPN2, with host John Schiffren, analysts Cory Alexander and Bobby Marks, and Andraya Carter providing in-depth analysis and interviews with participants and NBA team personnel. The NBA Draft Combine will also be available on the ESPN App.

Strength and agility drills and shooting drills will be broadcast live on the NBA App on Monday, May 15 from 3-5 p.m. ET, with host John Fanta showcasing the event's top prospects.
