SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's tennis team won their second-straight match with a 5-2 win over Montana.
 
The Zags clinched the doubles point to take an overall 1-0 lead. Brooke Bittner and Lia Espinal teamed up on court three to win 6-2. Tiegan Aitken and Ella Nielsen won in the No. 2 spot, 7-5, to clinch the point. In the No. 1 position, Emily Robertson and Kianna Oda teamed up and won 7-6 (4).
 
Going into singles up 1-0, the Bulldogs kept battling across the board. Espinal won her match on court six in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-3, over Rosie Sterk. Oda also competed well in the No. 2 spot, but fell 6-2, 6-3, against Hailey Murphy.
 
Montana tied up the match with a win on court five as Olivia Oosterbaan defeated Caroline Wernli, 6-3, 7-6 (5). The Zags took over the lead again when Nielsen won at No. 4 over Maria Goheen, 6-4, 6-3.
 
Aitken had a three-set battle on court three and ended up on top, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, over Grace Haugen as she clinched the match, 4-2.
 
Robertson closed out the match on court one with another three-set battle. After being down 3-6 in the first set, she came out and won the second, 7-6 (1). In the final set, she won 7-5, to give GU the final 5-2 win.
