THE TIPOFF
- The No. 4 seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs defeated No. 5 seed Utah on Monday, March 25, 77-66 to advance to the Sweet 16 in the Portland 4 region. The Zags will play No. 1 seed Texas this Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m.
- This marks GU's seventh-straight NCAA appearance and its 15th appearance overall. It is also the highest seed in program history at No. 4 as the Zags advance to the Sweet 16 for their fifth time.

Yvonne Ejim was recently tabbed the WCC Player of the Year and WCC Defensive Player of the Year.
Lisa Fortier also won WCC Coach of the Year.
Maud Huijbens was named WCC's Sixth Woman of the Year as well.
- Gonzaga's 32-3 (.914) record sits at third overall in the nation. The 32 wins makes a program best as the previous record was 31 wins in a season from the 2010-11 team.
- The Zags have won 36-straight games at home, which is a school record and ranks second in the nation only behind South Carolina (59-straight).
- Head coach
Lisa Fortier currently sits at 265-62 in her career. Among active Division I coaches, she is fifth in winning percentage at 81.1%.
- The Zags are first in the country in three-point percentage at 40.1%. GU's 48.6% in field goals also ranks eighth. From the free throw line, GU is fifth with 79.7%.
- Overall, GU is fourth in the country with assists per game with 19.8.
Kaylynne Truong is ninth in the nation and first in the conference in assists with 204 along with 15th in the country in assists per game with 5.8. She currently sits at second all-time in career assists at GU, only behind Courtney Vandersloot. She also is shooting at 42.8% from the three to rank 13th in the country.

Brynna Maxwell has made a three-pointer in every game this season and is seventh in the country with 94 three-pointers made this season. She sits at seventh overall with 44.5% from beyond the arc.
- Ejim is sixth in the country in field goals with 282 scored this season, which is a school record for most field goals made in a single season. Ejim has scored double figures for 39-straight games and has scored at least 20 points in 17games this season. She has recorded 15 double doubles this year.
- Ejim is shooting at 60.8%, which ranks ninth in the country and first in the WCC as it is also a program record. She is currently averaging 20 ppg, which is ranked 24th in the nation and first in the conference.

Yvonne Ejim has been named to an AP All-American Honorable Mention, Naismith POY Watch List, Katrina McClain Top 5 Power Forward Finalist, the Wade Trophy Watch List along with the Becky Hammon Player of the Year Midseason Watch List. She has been WCC Player of the Week six times this season. She was also ESPN's Player of the Week and the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week (12/4).

Lisa Fortier was named a semifinalst for the Naismith Coach of the Year award as she leads the Zags to its 15th overall NCAA appearance.
THE SERIES
SERIES INFO: This will be the first time in program history that the two teams have faced each other.
SAME OPPONENTS: This season, they both played three common opponents including Liberty, Arizona and Alabama. Both Texas and Gonzaga defeated all three teams.
SCOUTING THE LONGHORNS
- For the 18th time in program history the Longhorns are going to the Sweet 16. Texas advanced with a 65-54 win over Alabama in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Texas held Alabama well under their 73.7 point per game season scoring average.
- With the win over Alabama Texas notched their 32nd win of the season, which represents their most in a season since the 1987-88 season.
- The Longhorns rank fourth in the NCAA in margin of victory on the season at +23.3. 29 of the Longhorns 32 wins this season have been by double digits. 18 of their wins have been by 20 or more points.
- Texas freshman Madison Booker became the first freshman in Big 12 women's basketball history to earn the player of the year award, the league announced on March 5. Booker was also named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and a unanimous selection on the All-Big 12 First Team. The awards were selected by a vote of the conference head coaches.
- For a third straight year Texas won a Big 12 Championship as they won the Big 12 Tournament with a 70-53 win over Iowa State.
