GOLD RIVER, Calif. -- The Gonzaga men's rowing team finished the competition at the Western Sprints with top three finishes in all races.
The JV8 boat was the highlight of the day as the crew finished first in 6:15.610, ahead of UC San Diego, Santa Clara and San Diego.
"JV8 had a great race winning their race," head coach
Dan Gehn said. "The V8 and 3V8s had early success on the course but couldn't hang on to what they established early. Great group of athletes this year!"
In the 3V8 race, the Zags finished second with a time of 6:17.370, just right behind Santa Clara's first place time of 6:14.270.
The Varsity Eight boat concluded the day with another top performance by finishing third overall with a time of 6:06.060. UC San Diego took first with 6:00.190.
