Men’s Tennis Wins Road-Opener at Seattle

Zags face UW on Sunday at Nordstrom Tennis Center
SEATTLE, Wash. – Gonzaga men's tennis defeated Seattle 4-0 on Saturday at the Amy Yee Tennis Center, improving to 3-0 on the non-conference dual season.
Giovanni Branchetti/Jay Fairclough won their doubles match 6-3, while Diego Herrera/Tom Dunlop fell 7-3 in a tiebreaker. The Bulldogs claimed the doubles point as Kai-Luca Ampaw/Nicholas Reeves survived a tiebreaker of their own, 7-2.
In singles, Fairclough (6-2, 6-1), Oscar Rashed (6-3, 6-0), and Ampaw (6-2, 6-4) each won in straight sets. Reeves and Dunlop were leading their matches when the singles point was clinched.

- GU men's tennis is 3-0 this dual season after sweeping Eastern Washington last weekend.
- This was the first dual meeting between Gonzaga and Seattle since Jan. 2022, when the Bulldogs also won 4-0.
- Dating back to 2009, the Zags are now 15-0 all-time in dual matches against Seattle U, including 4-0 on the road.
