SAN BRUNO, Calif. –  The Gonzaga women's basketball team was selected to finish second in the 2025-26 West Coast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced Wednesday morning. Junior guard Zeryhia Aokuso and sophomore guard Allie Turner were each named to the Preseason All-WCC Team, highlighting Gonzaga's representation among the conference's top returners.

The Bulldogs earned three first-place votes and totaled 111 points, placing just behind Oregon State, which received nine first-place votes and 119 points to claim the top spot. The poll is voted on by the league's 12 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own teams.

The Zags have continued to set the standard of success in the West Coast Conference, compiling an impressive 307-37 (.892) conference record over the past 21 seasons. Overall, Gonzaga has captured 20 WCC Regular Season Titles and 10 WCC Tournament Championships.

Turner returns to Gonzaga as the reigning WCC Freshman of the Year and All-WCC First Team selection. Turner is tied for first among all returners in three points made in 2024-25 and the first freshman since 2020-21 to record 100+ three pointers in a single season. Aokuso, who was named the WCC Freshman of the Year in 2024, enters her junior campaign after transferring to GU from Saint Mary's. Overall, she started in 45 games for the Gaels and  averaged 10.9 points a game.
