The Zags secure their first conference win of the year
STOCKTON, Calif. — Gonzaga University (4-6-3, 1-3-2) secured a 2-0 victory over the University of the Pacific (3-11-0, 1-5-0) with two second-half goals at Knoles Field on Saturday night.
The first half began with the Bulldogs establishing an offensive rhythm early, as Morgan Olson registered two shots within the opening 12 minutes. Gonzaga doubled their advantage in the 74th minute when Drew Pedersen scored with help from Bazia. Despite pressure from Pacific, including several shots and corner kicks, Gonzaga's defense held firm, with Chema Preciado making crucial saves. The period concluded with Gonzaga leading 2-0, maintaining their upper hand as the match ended.
