SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Gonzaga women's rowing team showed determination and grit during their two events at the 2025 Windermere Cup Regatta in Seattle.
In the Women's Collegiate Open 8+, the Bulldogs 4V8 boat clocked in at 7:05.722, finishing third behind Washington and Western Washington. With
Serena Foster in the eight seat, the Gonzaga boat stayed competitive, holding strong through the middle 1,000 meters after hitting the 500m mark at 1:43.1 and 1000m at 3:59.0. They closed well against strong regional rivals in a race that tested both endurance and composure.
Later in the Women's Collegiate 2V4+, the Gonzaga 3V8 crew, led by
Lauren Royse, placed fourth with a time of 7:40.253. They maintained consistent pacing through the early stages (1:52.5 at 500m, 3:48.3 at 1000m) and continued to push through the final stretch, gaining valuable racing experience against top-tier competition, including multiple entries from Washington.
The Zags compete next at the WCC Championships on May 16 and 17 at Lake Natoma.
