The Gonzaga men's tennis started off the week with their second home opener of the spring season playing Cal Poly, 4-3.
Back in doubles is the Zags duo Gus Krauel and Diego Herrera who brought heat to court three taking the victory, 6-1 against Cal Poly's Luc Hoeijmans and Leo Matthysen. Meanwhile, Oscar Rashed and Nicholas Reeves secured the doubles point for the bulldogs, 6-2.
Jay Fairclough had a remarkable performance in singles against Cal Poly, 6-3, 3-6 before heading into a third set winning 6-1. Senior Giovanni Branchetti battled it out on court one leading to another point got the Zags, 3-6, 7-5 and 6-3. Tom Dunlop put up a good match against Cal Poly ending with 5-7, 7-6 and ending with a remarkable win in a tiebreak 8-6.
The Bulldogs will return back to action this Saturday February 21st at 1pm to compete against the Idaho Vandals.
