Men's Tennis Falls to LMU

The Zags play Pepperdine on Sunday

Box Score The Gonzaga men's tennis team made the trek down to Los Angeles, taking the courts to play against Loyola Marymount. The Zags dropped to the Lions in a 4-0 match-up.

Back in doubles play is duo Giovanni Branchetti and Jay Fairclough, who swept court one against LMU in a 6-2 lead. Doubles play slipped away from the Zags with Gus Krauel and Diego Herrera being defeated by Tristan Messerli and Darius Tamaddon, 6-4. Oscar Rashed and Nicholas Reeves also kept up with their opponents on court two; however, they came up short 6-4.

Singles play was challenging for the Zags, as Tom Dunlop dropped against Loyola Marymount's Kuba Hrynkiewicz, 6-1 and 6-0. Nicholas Reeves kept up in his first set against Alex Padro; unfortunately, Reeves fell short to the Lions, 6-4 and 6-2. Bulldogs Jay Fairclough fell short in a competitive match-up against his opponent on court two, 6-1 and 6-4.

The Zags will continue playing in California, heading to Malibu to compete against Pepperdine. The match-up will be on Sunday, April 5th at 2:30 pm.
