The Bulldogs and No. 28 Pepperdine Waves went head-to-head in a competitive match-up that left the Zags defeated, 4-0.
Gonzaga was unable to seize momentum in the match's opening play for doubles. Stepping onto court three, Zag's fierce duo
Gus Krauel and
Diego Herrera kept up with their opponents, Maxi Homberg and Robin Boeckli, coming up short to the Waves 7-5.
Oscar Rashed and
Nicholas Reeves ultimately couldn't keep up with their opponents, losing at number two court 6-2.
Despite strong play, Gonzaga just couldn't turn the match around.
Giovanni Branchetti took on Waves David Fix in a hard-fought match that left Branchetti defeated 6-1 in both sets.
Tom Dunlop couldn't find a breakthrough against the Waves, falling short 6-2 in both sets as well. In a tightly contested match-up against
Nicholas Reeves and Hugh Winter, Reeves battled through two sets but was defeated 7-5 and 6-2.
The Zags will finish off their trek in California by taking on Saint Mary's this Friday, April 10th.
