Spring 2021: All-WCC Second Team…WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention…became the 15th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career kills, finishing with 1,292 to rank sixth all-time…started all 18 matches at outside…finished with 217 digs on the season and ranked second on the team with a 3.01 digs per set average…recorded a season-high 23 digs at Pacific on Feb. 5…led the team in kills with 191…finished with a season-high 22 kills against Saint Mary’s on Feb. 15…tallied double-digit kills in 14 matches…48 blocks on the year, ranking second on the squad with 0.67 blocks per set…finished the season with 26 service aces and 16 assists.

2019: All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention…WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention…led the Bulldogs in attacks, kills and points…finished with 288 kills on the season for a 2.80 per set average…added 190 digs for a 1.84 per set average…ranked second on the squad in blocks with 71.0…also ranked second in aces with 31…set new career-highs in digs (27, at San Francisco, Oct. 19) and Blocks (9.0, vs. San Francisco, Oct. 19)…added a season-high 19 kills at Nevada on Sept. 20…finished with double-figure kills 17 times on the season with six matches of double-digit digs…added five double-doubles (kills, digs).

2018: Earned All-WCC Honorable Mention and WCC All-Academic honors… played in all 29 matches, starting in 25 and played in all but two of the 107 sets played… averaged a career high of 2.93 kills and 1.40 digs… hit double digit kills 17 times, recording 4 double-doubles… had a season high attack percentage of 0.538 on 31 swings against Portland State Sept. 8… recorded a season high of 18 kills against Pacific Oct. 13… set a career high of seven blocks against San Francisco Nov. 1… finished the season with 313 kills, 150 digs and 66 blocks.

2017: Earned WCC All-Freshman Team honors, the first Zag to do so since 2013...led conference freshmen with 292 kills, second-most by a freshman in GU's rally-scoring era...averaged 2.61 kills, 1.38 digs a set...posted five double-doubles and reached double-digit kills 17 times...played in all 30 matches, starting 18...made collegiate debut Aug. 25 versus Illinois...landed 19 kills in first start, five-set win over Arizona State Sept. 1...six straight matches at 10 or more kills to begin WCC play Sept. 21-Oct. 7...11 kills on 20 swings Sept. 23 versus Pacific...first double-double came at Pepperdine Oct. 5 on 12 kills, 14 digs...matched then-career high with 14 digs at Portland Oct. 21...22 kills on a .500 attack percentage Nov. 18 at Saint Mary's...ended season with career-high 26 kills and 19 digs Nov. 20 versus Portland.

Sherwood High School: Started all four years at Sherwood HS...led the Bowmen to the second round of the state playoffs as a senior, earning Second Team All-State and First Team All-League accolades...also named First Team All-League as a sophomore and junior, Second Team All-League as a freshman...received 2017 OSAA Foundation Scholar Athlete award and named US Marine Corps 2017 Distinguished Athlete for Sherwood HS...graduated with an Advanced Honors diploma and was a member of National Honor Society.

Club Experience: Played club ball with both North Pacific Juniors and Athena Volleyball Academy...led North Pacific Juniors Forefront 18U team to club's most successful season, earning first ever open bid to Junior National Championships...also finished first in the CEVA/PSVBA Platinum Power League and won CEVA Regional Championship...with 16Us, again won CEVA/PSVBA Platinum Power League and CEVA Regional Championship...finished fifth at Junior Nationals in the National division.

Personal: Full name Sarah Louise Penner...parents are Jill and Toby...has a brother named Adin...majoring in business and wants to start her own business after graduation...chose Gonzaga "because of the competitive volleyball program and the at-home atmosphere of the campus and people,"...loves to draw and paint.
