Gonzaga University Athletics

Gonzaga: (2018-19) Cross Country - Kicked off the season with a 4th place finish at the Clash of the Inland Northwest Invitational. Took 7th at the Cougar Cross Country Classic. Placed 5th at the Montana Invitational. Was the teams sixth runner at the NCAA West Region XC Championships…Indoor - Did not Compete…Outdoor - Competed at the 2019 Buc Scoring Meet in the 5k. Competed in the 1500m at the Sam Adams Classic, Mike Fanelli Track Classic, and WAR 12. Ran a personal best in the 1500m of 3:52.48 at the Cardinal Classic, good enough for 5th. Ran a personal best in the 5k at the West Coast Invitational running 14:34.89.

High School- In his senior season at Rocklin High School, Clusserath was named the 2015 Sierra Foothills League Runner of the Year after winning the SFL Cross Country Championships in a time of 15:36. Ran his 5,000-meter career best of 15:18.5 in his victory at the Stanford Invitational. Boasts a personal best of 4:12.73 in the prelims of the 1600 meter run at the CIF State Track and Field Championships which qualified him for the finals. Went on to place 10^th in the state final of the 1600 meter run.

Personal- His mother, Pat Matava, ran cross country and track at the University of Virginia. Clusserath was a Class Valedictorian nominee at Rocklin with a GPA of 4.5. Interested in majoring in Civil Engineering.
