2020-21 Men's Basketball Season Ticket Holder Information

College athletics have been hit hard by the current COVID-19 pandemic and Gonzaga is no exception. The significant lost revenue we are facing not only negatively impacts our basketball program, but each of our 18 varsity sports and 330+ student athletes. We have implemented many cost-saving measures in an effort to alleviate the financial strain, however, we are relying on the continued generosity of our Zag community to ensure we remain competitive on a national level. Now more than ever, we need your support. In light of this information, we are not asking season ticket holders to renew your season tickets this year. Rather, we are inviting you to be a part of ZAGS UNITED, a campaign to support our student-athletes and keep Gonzaga among the nation’s elite programs.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will the basketball season start?

The NCAA announced the college basketball season is scheduled to start on Nov 25th. At this time, we do not know the schedule or how many games could be played at home in the McCarthey Athletic Center.

Will fans be able to attend games in McCarthey Athletic Center this season?

State and regional health guidelines will dictate fan attendance this season and further information will be communicated as we know more. At this point, we are operating under the assumption that fans will not be allowed, or limited at best, for home games this year.

If fans are able attend this season, who will be given access?

Should fans be allowed during the 2020-21 season, Men’s Basketball season ticket holders that make their Men’s Basketball full seat-related contribution will be prioritized for single game ticket access.

What is ZAGS UNITED?

ZAGS UNITED is a campaign to support Gonzaga Athletics during this difficult time. College athletics have been hit hard by the current COVID-19 pandemic and we are dealing with significant losses in revenue that will negatively impact each of our 18 varsity sports and 330+ student athletes. We are relying on the continued generosity of the Zag community to ensure we remain competitive on a national level. Gifts made through Zags United support all areas of Gonzaga’s Athletics department including scholarships, equipment, academic services, health and wellness, team meals, travel and more.

Is my ZAGS UNITED contribution tax deductible?

  • All gifts to the ZAG Annual Fund are 100% tax deductible.
  • If there are no fans at games, all gifts are 100% tax deductible.
    • If you opt in to ticket opportunities by making your seat related contribution and fans are allowed at home games, only the amount you give above and beyond your seat-related contribution would be considered tax-deductible. The seat-related contribution would give you access to a benefit and therefore wouldn’t be considered tax deductible.

Yes, to make a pledge please contact the Director of Annual Giving, Tracy Garcia, at 509-313-3964. Please reference the ZAGS UNITED deadlines to see when pledge payments are due.

  • The deadline to be included for any Men’s Basketball ticket opportunities, should fans be allowed, is December 1, 2020.
  • The deadline to receive double Priority Points for ZAGS UNITED contributions is February 1, 2021.

If I am unable to give my support to the ZAGS UNITED campaign, will I still have access to renew my Men’s Basketball season tickets for the 2021-22 season?

We know the current health crisis has had a significant impact on so many in our community and recognize it’s a tough time to be asking for financial contributions without the guarantee of being able to attend games in the Kennel. However, we are steadfast in our belief that the Gonzaga community is driven by a passion and generosity of spirit that is unrivaled in the nation and hope all of our season ticket holders will participate in ZAGS UNITED with a contribution to remain engaged as fans and supporters. Regardless of the ability to give or contribution level, all season ticket holders will retain the opportunity to renew season tickets for the 2021-22 season.

Will there be any socials or game day hospitality this season?

Due to state and local restrictions, we do not anticipate being able to host pre-game and halftime socials in any of our hospitality spaces for home games.

Has there been any announcement regarding the WCC Tournament?

The conference has not released any information on the plans for this year’s WCC Tournament so there is no action needed at this time regarding access to tickets. More information will be communicated to season ticket holders as we know more from the WCC.

Is the cost of single game tickets included in my full Men’s Basketball seat-related contribution?

By contributing your full Men’s Basketball seat-related contribution, you will receive access to purchase single game tickets, which are an additional cost. Single game tickets, if available, would be purchased on a game-by-game basis.

If I contribute the full seat-related contribution tied to my Men’s Basketball tickets, how many games will I be able to attend? And, will I receive the same seats as my season ticket location?

At this time, we are working with state and regional health authorities in regards to fan attendance and cannot make any guarantees or predictions at this time. Men’s Basketball season ticket holders who contribute their full seat-related contribution will be included in access to purchase single game tickets. More information will be communicated at a later time to this group about the purchasing and seat allocation process, should tickets become available. Given the uncertainty around fan attendance and potential limits to capacity, we cannot guarantee season ticket holders will have access to their regular seats for games this season.
