2019-20 (Senior): ITA Scholar Athlete…WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention Singles: Posted an 11-9 overall record on the season before the spring slate was cut short due to COVID-19…picked up his first win of the fall against EWU’s Martin Bats, defeating him 7-6(7-2), 6-3 at the EWU Fall Classic…followed it up with a win over fellow Zag Theo McDonald 6-2, 2-6 1-0(10-2)…after dropping his first match at the ITA Northwest Regional, posted back-to-back consolation wins, closing the tournament with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Washington’s Brandon Wong…won his first three duals matches at No. 5 singles, posing straight-set victories over Drake, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois…picked up three more victories during duals, finishing the season with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Alexey Aleschev at Fresno State on March 12. Doubles: Finished with a 5-7 overall doubles mark…paired with four different Zags, most often with Oliver Andersson…collected each of his five victories during the fall slate…opened the season with an 8-2 victory ove EWU’s Bats/Doumen at the EWU Fall Classic with partner Hunter Egger…opened the ITA Northwest Regional with an 8-5 win over Portland’s McCaig/HorozGarner with partner Brandon Park…posted victories in three of his final four doubles matches of the fall slate…advanced to the semifinals of Larry Easley Memorial Classic, defeating San Diego State 8-6 and Cal Poly 8-7(8-6) with partner Matthew Hollingworth before falling to UCLA in the semifinals…played at both No. 2 doubles and No. 3 doubles in the spring, all with Andersson.
2018-2019 (Junior): Honorable Mention Singles All-WCC…WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention. Singles: 19-7 on the year, going 8-0 in WCC play…started off the season with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Portland State’s Nikola Dimitrijevic of Portland State at the Dar Walters Classic…reached the semifinals of the Gonzaga invitational before falling to teammate Ruadhan O’Sullivan 6-4, 6-7, 4-6…picked up his first win of the spring season over Montana State’s Christian Damgaard Qvist…defeated Wyatt Demulling at Boise State, 6-3, 6-3…went on a six-match winning streak, including his first WCC win over San Diego’s Joel Gamerov, 6-2, 6-4…named the WCC player of the week after a 3-0 week where he defeated USF’s Phuc Huyn 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 to clinch the match for GU and clinched again against Santa Clara with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win against Robert Seby….went on an eight-match winning streak spanning from March 22 through April 13. Doubles: 5-6 on the season…paired with four teammates throughout the course of the season…opened the year with a 6-1 win with partner Hunter Egger against Whitman’s John Carter and Derek Simonsen…defeated Montana State’s Joaquin Espinoza and Creel Smith, 6-3, with partner Matt Perkins…won two in a row against Seattle’s Emilio Monroy and Colton Weeldreyer 6-4 with partner Kyle Everly…later that day, defeated Alex Chan and Adrian Sanabria of Seattle, 6-1 with partner Matt Perkins…beat Navy’s Andrew Hicks and Romesh Kahatapitya 6-4, with partner Kyle Everly for his last win of the season.
2017-18 (Sophomore): Singles: Finished the year with a team-best 20-9 overall singles record with a 10-4 tournament mark...won seven of his first nine matches, advancing to the round of 16 at the Dar Walters Fall Classic...picked up two wins at the Bulldog Classic, defeating Jeremy Mueller of Eastern Washington in straight sets followed by a 7-5, 7-5 win over Idaho's Esteban Santibanez to advance to the round of 16...posted five-straight wins to open the spring season...led 6-4, 5-3 over Oregon's Akihiro Tanaka at No. 3 when the match went unfinished...posted four-straight wins from March 17-31, including a come-from-behind 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over San Francisco's Oliver Poysti to clinch the 4-1 win for the Bulldogs...finished the season with a 6-0, 6-4 win in GU's 4-2 win over Saint Mary's. Doubles: Posted a 12-16 overall record with a 6-7 mark in tournament play...paired with Kyle Everly for the entire season... after starting the fall slate 2-5, went 9-1 over the next 10 matches including six-straight matches from Oct. 27-Jan. 20…put the Bulldogs in position to clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win over Idaho’s Lucas Coutinho and Guilherme Scarpelli on No. 2 doubles…finished 1-5 in WCC play…was GU’s lone doubles victory at San Diego with a 6-1 rout of USD’s Garrett Kurtz and Pratt Keerasuntonpon…earned a decisive 6-1 victory at UC Irvine on March 15, defeating Mason Hansen and Daniel Gealer at No. 1 doubles.
2016-17 (Freshman): Singles: Team-best 18-13 overall mark, 7-8 in dual play...reached final at first career tournament, EWU Fall Classic, Sept. 16-18...won consolation bracket at Aggie Invitational Sept. 30-Oct. 2 with four straight wins...reached Round of 32 at USTA/ITA Northwest Regionals Oct. 14-17 with wins against foes from Saint Mary's and San Francisco...first career dual win came Jan. 28 versus Eastern Washington's Victor Pereira at No. 2 singles...four straight wins Feb. 11-March 13...helped GU pick up first-ever dual win at UC Irvine with two-set win over Luca Marquard...1-4 in WCC play but led two matches left unfinished...beat Saint Mary's Matthew Campana in two sets April 14. Doubles: 11-15 overall, 8-9 in dual play...with Kyle Everly, reached Round of 32 at USTA/ITA Northwest Regionals with 8-4 win over Mah/Marker of San Francisco Oct. 14...played entire dual season at No. 2 doubles with Everly...won five of six matches played Jan. 28 to March 13, including wins over pairs from Idaho, Sacramento State, and UC Riverside, among others...3-5 in WCC play but led in only match left unfinished...downed Santa Clara's Seby/Baranjas 6-4 March 26...also beat BYU's Carrazedo/Sullivan April 1 and Saint Mary's' Campana/Lamelas April 14.
Bob Jones High School: Played at No. 1 singles and doubles for the Patriots…two-time Alabama 6A state champion in singles play, winning as a junior and senior…AL.com Boy’s Tennis Player of the Year…also took fourth place in state Spanish Vocabulary competition.
Other Experience: Named USTA Junior Player of the Year for Alabama in both 2015 and 2016…reached No. 37 in the nation and No. 1 in Alabama according to TennisRecruting.net…played for multiple national championships at the UTA National Championships (2015 and 2016), National Clay Court Championships (2015 and 2016) and USTA National Selection Tournament (2015)…reached consolation quarterfinal at 2016 Clay Court Championships…picked up tournament wins at Icy Hot USTA Southern Level 1A Championship and Alabama State Qualifying…also won doubles bracket of ITA Summer Circuit: Georgia in July.
Personal: Parents are Olivia and Gordon…planning on majoring in engineering…wants to run a company after graduation…chose Gonzaga because “it has a great engineering and business program, a beautiful campus/atmosphere, and caring coaches along with a fantastic basketball team. Also, my cousin is currently attending the school and loves it.”
