(2020-2021) Cross Country – Did not compete…Outdoor – Opened the season at the Sam Adams Classic 5k with a 13th place finish (15:20.71). Placed 11th in the 5k at the Buc Scoring Meet (15:30.41). Ran a personal best of 15:19.75 in the 5k at the Portland Distance Carnival.

(2019-2020) Cross Country – Laced up the spikes for three meets. Placed 74th at the Cougar Classic (26:34.4). Ran an 8k personal best of 25:34.0 at the Inland Empire Championships. Closed out the season with a 25th place finish at the Sasquatch Invite (26:06.5)…Indoor – Raced the 3k at three meets. The Vandal Open, Idaho Open, and Idaho Team Challenge. Ran his PR of 8:41.99 at the Idaho Open, placing 2nd…Outdoor – Season cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic.

(2018-2019) Cross Country - Competed in five meets throughout the season for the Zags which included the Clash of the Inland Northwest invitational, Cougar Cross Country Classic, Montana Cross Country Invitational, Inland Empire Challenge, and Sasquatch Invite…Indoor - Competed in one meet, the WSU Indoor Track & Field Meet, placing 7th…Outdoor - Ran in five meets for Gonzaga. Best finish included a 5th place in the 5000m at the Sam Adams Invite. Also competed at WAR 12, Spokane Memorial 2019, and the 2019 West Coast Invitational. 

High School: Sam finished 20th overall at the WIAA XC state championships in 2016. He was also a2x Edmonds school district champion in the 3200, 3x 2nd team All-Wesco, 10th in the 2016 WIAA 3A State 3200, 12th in the 2017 3A State 1600, and 14th in the 3A State 3200. He holds PRs of 9:31 for3200 and 4:23 for 1600.

Personal: Human Physiology Major. Looks up to American runner Paul Chelimo. Chose Gonzaga because “You can’t say no to Coach Tyson – He’s one of the best coaches around. In addition, the team was a perfect fit.” Sam would love to work with product design for a running/shoe company after he graduates. He also goes by “Mclovin."
