Biography

Bowman, who once was the all-time leading scorer in West Coast Conference women’s basketball history, joined the Gonzaga staff in 2014. The former Zags’ standout had one of the most successful careers in program history.

 

On the staff, her primary duties include video exchange, conversions and editing. She also helps organize youth summer camps and assists in day-to-day operations of the program.

 

While at Gonzaga, she set the career scoring record at GU and also broke the West Coast Conference mark with 2,165 points. She was a four-time First Team All-WCC selection and ranks among the top-three all-time among Bulldog players in games played, field goals made, field goal percentage, free throws made and rebounds. Bowman was instrumental in Gonzaga reaching the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2009 and the Sweet 16 in 2010. She was the WCC Newcomer of the Year during her freshman season (2007) and the league's Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2008.

 

After her Bulldog playing career, she was an assistant coach at nearby Whitworth University from 2011 to 2014. Bowman managed all travel arrangements for the NCAA Div. III women’s basketball program. She developed year-round strength and conditioning programs. She assisted in recruitment of student-athletes, social media, opponent scouting reports, and team scheduling.

 

While at Whitworth, the Pirates won the 2013 and 2014 Northwest Conference tournament titles. In 2013, Whitworth made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. The following year, the Pirates won their first-ever NCAA Tournament game.

 

She served as the assistant sports information director at Whitworth in 2011, and was on the event management staff in 2012. Bowman was a faculty instructor for sport and fitness requirement classes during her tenure at Whitworth.

 

Bowman received her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Communications in 2010. She is currently working on a graduate degree in organizational leadership.

 

Prior to coming to Gonzaga, Bowman had a successful career at Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane. As a senior Bowman led the Tigers to the 2006 4A state championship, earning MVP of the state tournament. LCHS finished third at the state tournament during her junior season. Bowman was named Second Team All-State as a junior and First Team All-State as a senior. She also played on the prestigious Spokane Stars Navy AAU team for three years.
