FRESHMAN (2023-24): Appeared in nine games this season, concluding with 56 total minutes and 6.2 minutes per game on the year… Maintained a field goal percentage of 50%, with five made field goals, this season… Grabbed nine total rebound this year, with four offensive rebounds and 1.0 rebounds per game… Scored 11 points this season, with a points per game average of 1.2… Finished the year with two blocks and three steals… Had two points, four rebounds, and two assists against South Dakota State, all of which were season-highs… Earned a career-high two blocks against North Florida…
Naya Ojukwu
6'0 | Forward | Meridian, Idaho | Mountain View High School | University of Utah
Ojukwu played in four games during her freshman year at Utah. She averaged 5.3 minutes, 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest. She scored a career-high 10 points at Mississippi Valley State, going 5-of-7 from the field and pulled down a career-high five rebounds. After receiving a hardship waiver from the NCAA, Ojukwu will be a true freshman coming into Gonzaga.
In high school, Ojukwu was the 2020-21 Idaho Gatorade Player of the year and MaxPreps Idaho Player of the Year. She earned 2021 State Tournament MVP honors and was a three-time Class 5A All-State honoree. Ojukwu led Mountain View High School to two-straight Idaho Class 5A State Titles and averaged 24.2 points and 10 rebounds, per game as a junior.
Coach Fortier on Ojukwu: Naya is a great athlete, and has a diverse skill set. She is capable of playing multiple positions for us and will be able to score from all areas of the floor. Naya has an easy personality, and a drive to work that will help her fit in right away. We are really excited to welcome her to the family!
