Gillian Edgar

During Coach Edgar’s four years on staff she has worked with the entire spectrum of the team, but most notably focused on the Fours group through the Spring campaigns with great success.  Those boats have earned head-to-head wins over: Oregon State, Washington State, Wisconsin, UCLA, Clemson, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and Central Florida with the I Four claiming a conference Championship in 2022, ’23, and ’24.  Nationally the I Four has advanced to the C final of the NCAA Championships each of the last four years, finishing as high as 16th in the 2024 campaign.

As a student athlete, Edgar was a two time All-American who helped Seattle Pacific University  reach the NCAA Championships for the first time in nearly a decade, finishing fourth in 2019.  As a senior, Edgar and the Falcons placed as the runner-up at the inaugural GNAC Championship and earned All-Conference in 2021 for her efforts.

Edgar was the Only DII Rower in the nation to be invited to the U23 National Team Selection Camp in 2019. She was team captain for the 2019-2020 school year.

Off the water, Edgar served not only her team and her institution, but her entire conference as the GNAC representative to the NCAA Student Athlete Advisory Council from 2019-2021. In spring of 2021, she was nominated by the GNAC for NCAA Women of the Year award and was awarded the Falcon Award for Excellence from Seattle Pacific.

Edgar grew up in Seattle and attended from King’s High School. She graduated from Seattle Pacific in 2021 with a degree in Business Management and is currently working on her Masters in Sports and Athletic Administration here at Gonzaga.
