Biography
2015: Did not play redshirt senior season due to injury...wrapped up GU career with 57 matches, 192 sets played...added 157 kills, 116 blocks, and 141 digs in just over two years of action.
2014: Saw action in one match as a redshirt junior...played a set against Portland November 25...tallied three kills on six attacks.
2013: Saw action in all 27 matches, playing 96 sets as a redshirt sophomore...second on team with 77 blocks, a career high...also set career high with 103 kills...added eight assists, five aces, and 35 digs...tallied seven kills and six blocks Aug. 31 vs. Boise State...set career high with 10 blocks Sept. 13 at Montana State...season high nine kills Oct. 3 at San Francisco...equaled that figure Oct. 24 at Pepperdine...tallied five or more kills in four consecutive matches (Oct. 24 to Nov. 2).
2012: played in 29 matches, 95 sets... finished season with 51 kills, 12 assists, nine service aces, 106 digs and 39 blocks...season-high 10 kills against Portland (Nov.15)... season-high four service against Texas Southern (Sept. 7)... recorded a dig in all but one match...season-high 16 digs against Villanova (Sept. 14)...three double figure dig matches...notched five blocks at Loyola Marymount (Oct. 27). 2011: Redshirted at Gonzaga.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-year member of the AJ Dimond High volleyball team...also earned two varsity letters in track and field and one in basketball...named 2011 Alaska Gatorade Player of the Year...led Dimond to three-straight Class 4A state championships.
MISC.: 3.91 high school GPA...sister Olivia Nielson plays volleyball at Whitman College...father David Nielson played basketball at UC Davis.
