Since 2020, Henderson has directed Gonzaga’s comprehensive communications efforts during a period of unprecedented growth and transition. He guided the department through COVID-19 operations, developed strategic messaging during conference expansion discussions, managed communications planning for new facilities, supported the onboarding of a new athletic director, and helped shape coverage during the most successful competitive era in program history.

Henderson serves as the primary media contact for Gonzaga men’s basketball, women’s soccer, and golf. He has coordinated national and international coverage of men’s basketball during a streak of NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by Final Four and national championship runs in 2017 and 2021. His work has significantly expanded Gonzaga Athletics’ digital presence, fostering measurable growth and engagement across all major social media platforms.

Nationally recognized within the field, Henderson is a longtime member of College Sports Communicators (CSC), where he has served on the Health & Wellness and Creative & Digital Design Committees. He is also a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame position awards selection committees and has presented as a panelist at CSC’s national convention. In 2012, he was named Sports Information Director of the Year by the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

Prior to Gonzaga, Henderson directed communications at Western Oregon University, Montana State University Billings, and Eastern Oregon University, as well as for the Cascade Collegiate Conference. His early career included roles in sports journalism and broadcasting.

A native of Oregon, Henderson earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Eastern Oregon University and an associate’s degree from Southwestern Oregon Community College. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Communications and Leadership at Gonzaga University (2025–27).

Henderson resides in Spokane with his wife, Monica.
