LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Gonzaga University's women's soccer team was outshot 30-5 by Loyola Marymount University, and the Lions scored three times in a span of 1:08 in the first half to post an easy 6-1 West Coast Conference victory Friday.
The Lions (13-5-0, 3-3-0) scored their first goal at 17:23 as Stacy Roberts took a pass from Bree McCann. Allison Marra scored her first of two goals at 18:15 from Jill Dobins, and 16 seconds later it was Marra again scoring out of a melee in front of the net on a pass from Angela Ichinose. The Lions pushed the lead to 4-0 at halftime when Ichinose scored on a penalty kick at 24:47.
Gonzaga's (7-12-0, 1-5-0) lone goal came at 76:04 when Julie Schroeder put a chip shot over the shoulder of LMU keeper Tracy Sharp to cut the LMU lead to 5-1. Sara Streufert got the assist.
The Bulldogs will conclude the regular season Sunday at noon at Pepperdine University. The Waves suffered a 2-1 home loss to the University of Portland Friday, the Pilots scoring the deciding goal in the 88th minute.
