Hara Wins WCC Player Of The Week Honors

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga senior shortstop Kevin Hara was honored as the Rawlings / West Coast Conference Player of the Week after his big weekend run producing weekend against Portland. Hara smashed his first two home runs of the season during the three game season, both long balls being the grand slam variety.
The Tacoma, Wash., native hit .417 for the week driving home nine runs and scoring four additional runs. Hara currently ranks second on the Gonzaga squad with 32 RBI's and has pushed his season high hitting streak to nine games.
Hara's first grand slam of the weekend capped a six run first inning during the Zags 9-6 series opening win over the Pilots. Hara then delivered his second slam during the Zags 15-4 Easter Sunday victory in which Gonzaga scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to blow open the game and remain 1.5 games behind first place LMU in the WCC Coast Division race.
