Gonzaga Baseball Adds Three Players

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University baseball team added three more players to its incoming class with the addition of Brady Gardner, John Gonzalez and Matt Reding. Gonzaga has now added nine new players for the 2000-2001 school year.
Brady Gardner, a right-hander pitcher from Rexburg, ID., joins the Gonzaga roster after two stand-out seasons at Ricks College in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. The 6-1 pitcher led his team during the 1999 season with a 6-4 record and 3.16 earned run average. His eight complete games on the season came in only 12 starts while striking out 40 opposing batters. Ricks College finished the 1999 season with a 20-29 record and in sixth place in the conference.
John Gonzalez, a left-handed pitcher from Camarillo, CA., comes to GU following a successful high school career at Camarillo High School. The incoming freshman posted a 10-2 record with a 1.86 earned run average while garnering All-Ventura County honors during his senior season.
Matt Reding, a left-handed pitcher and outfielder from Tacoma, WA., joins the Bulldogs baseball team after playing his high school baseball at Bellarmine Prep. He was one of the top players in the Narrows 4A League earning All-State honors following his senior campaign. Reding also participated in the Washington / Oregon Baseball All-Star game.
