BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State University Broncos (3-5) snapped the Gonzaga University Bulldogs (6-5) four-game win streak 71-59 Friday night at Boise, Idaho.

The Broncos established the early lead putting the first points on the board and pulling away by as many as eight points before going to the locker room with the 34-28 half-time lead.

Bernice Stime led the Bulldogs first-half scoring efforts with seven points followed by Shannon Mathews with six points. Raeanna Jewell pulled down four first-half boards. The Bulldogs shot 52 percent from the field.

The high-tempo Broncos maintained their lead paced by Crista Peterson who collected a game-high 18 points on the night.

Stime had a team-high 15 points for GU followed by Jewell, Mathews and Ashley Burke who tallied 10 each. Jewell finished with a team-high eight boards.

The Bulldogs finished with 48 percent from the field, 22 percent from three-point range and 62 percent from the free-throw line.

The loss marks the least amount of points that the Zags have scored this season.

The Bulldogs have a 17-day break before returning to action against the University of California Riverside Highlanders Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. in Riverside, Calif.
