Gonzaga Ties With Portland State Vikings 0-0

PORTLAND, Ore. - Gonzaga University women's soccer team wrapped up its two-match road trip at Portland State University Sunday in a 0-0 tie.

By mutual agreement of the coaches, no overtime was played in the non-conference match. Gonzaga (0-1-1) freshman keeper Brooke Longacre accumulated eight saves for her first collegiate shutout in her inaugural start. Vikings goalie Gretchen Pietras made 11 saves. Midfielder Claire Whitfield led the Bulldogs offense with six shots followed by Kelly Leffel who had four. Gonzaga held a 20-18 shot advantage over Portland State.

Gonzaga returns home Friday to play the University of Washington at 4 p.m. on Martin Field in the regular-season opener.
