SAN JOSE, Calif. - The University of the Pacific won the opening match of the Adidas Classic, defeating Gonzaga University, 1-0 at Spartan Stadium, Friday night.

Pacific forward Gabby Olivares scored the lone goal unassisted at 43:37. Olivares dominated the match with eight shots.

The Tigers held a 19-9 shot advantage.

Bulldog goalkeeper Brooke Longacre made nine saves while Tiger goalkeeper Cassondra Kaeding tallied seven.

The Bulldogs wrap up tourney play Sunday when they face hosts San Jose State at 1:30 p.m. at Spartan Stadium
