McLEAN, Va. (SportsTicker) - No. 3 beat No. 1, but it's No. 2 who's the new No. 1 in this week's USA TODAY/ESPN Top 25 coaches' poll.
Kansas, 23-2 took over as the new No. 1 team when No. 3 Maryland knocked off No. 1 Duke Sunday. The Jayhawks has 21 first-place votes to nine for Maryland and one for Duke.
Cincinnati and Oklahoma swapped places, with the Bearcats climbing to fourth and the Sooners falling to fifth. Alabama, Gonzaga, Florida, Marquette and Pittsburgh round out the top 10.
Gonzaga moved up one spot to seventh this week after home wins over Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine. Saturday's win over Pepperdine avenged the Bulldogs' lone West Coast Conference setback this season and also snapped the Waves' 13-game winning streak. In winning their 26th straight game in The Kennel, Gonzaga also snapped Pepperdine's winning streak that was the current longest streak in the country.
The only newcomer to the poll this week is Xavier (Ohio), debuting at 24 with a record of 19-4. UCLA dropped out of the poll.
